Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a specialist SEN secondary school based in Widnes who are looking for a flexible Teaching Assistant. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a strong background in SEN and is looking for a new role within a supportive and inclusive environment.

About the role:

  • Start-date: immediate upon registering with Teaching Personnel (2-3 weeks)
  • Ongoing/long-term role
  • Flexible working pattern dependent on the school

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working within the school’s secondary campus with students with a wide range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH. You will work closely with class teachers and external agencies to create and implement individualised learning support plans. This will involve 1-1 and small group support with both learning and emotional regulation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with students with complex SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both students and colleagues
  • A genuine passion for working with young people
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
