SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only
Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience

We are currently seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Worthing. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assisting children in accessing classroom activities and the wider curriculum.
- Supporting pupils with communication, social, emotional, and learning needs.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning and development.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional learning needs.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or Youth Worker.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support.
