Our partner schools support pupils with a wide range of needs including autism, SEMH, severe learning difficulties and complex communication needs. What you'll be doing

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs across specialist and mainstream classroom settings.
  • Delivering support in line with individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and teacher-led lesson plans.
  • Assisting with communication, independence, learning and social development based on each pupil's individual goals.
  • Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour strategies and building trusted, consistent relationships with pupils.
  • Assisting with personal care where required, always acting with dignity and compassion.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and multi-disciplinary professionals as part of a wider support team.
  • Keeping accurate records of pupil progress and following safeguarding procedures throughout.

Who we're looking for

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school, care, health or voluntary setting.
  • Patient, reliable and genuinely committed to inclusive education and the progress of every pupil.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, with a positive and professional approach at all times.
  • Full-time availability from September 2026, Monday to Friday, term-time.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

What's in it for you

  • Competitive full-time salary, dependent on experience.
  • Specialist SEN training covering autism, SEMH, EHCP practice and more through Teaching Personnel's CPD programme.
  • Local placements matched carefully to your experience, preferences and strengths.
  • A dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant who takes the time to find the right school for you.
  • Long-term and permanent contract opportunities with schools that value their support staff.
