Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a fantastic SEND primary school in the Haywards Heath area that is looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Child Buddies to support primary-aged boys with additional needs.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The pupils you will be supporting may present with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • ADHD

  • Learning Difficulties

  • Behavioural Needs

We are looking for candidates who are:

✔ Proactive and positive in their approach
✔ Bubbly, energetic and engaging
✔ Patient, resilient and understanding
✔ Passionate about supporting children with SEND
✔ Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
✔ Confident supporting children both inside and outside the classroom

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils

  • Supporting learning, engagement and emotional regulation

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social development

  • Helping children develop confidence, independence and life skills

  • Working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable

  • A genuine interest in SEND and child development

  • Child Only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Access to a car due to the school's location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
