Job description

A highly reputable and award-winning Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their growing school community in Wakefield. With a long-standing commitment to excellence in SEN education, this group offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning challenges.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support where needed

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEN (desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
