We are currently recruiting a committed, compassionate, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Trowbridge. Whether you’re looking for part-time flexibility or a full-time position, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

This role offers the chance to work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia. You'll provide both academic and emotional support, helping to create a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

You’ll be supporting students in a variety of ways: through one-to-one work, small group sessions, and within full class settings, always under the guidance of teaching staff and SENCOs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support to students with SEN, adapting your approach to suit individual learning needs

• Assist in implementing EHCPs and supporting positive behaviour strategies

• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver joined-up support

• Help create a safe, nurturing classroom environment

• Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to staff

Who We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)

• A calm, patient and encouraging presence

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A flexible, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn

• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience in a secondary school setting

• Familiarity with support strategies for Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia

• Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
