SEN Teaching Assistant
Tonypandy
Min. £11.85 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our partnership schools. The successful applicant will be working within KS3&4 classes supporting the Special Educational Needs of a small group of students. The position is available from September and will run for the entirety of the academic year, with interviews being held over the next couple of weeks.

What do I need to be a Teaching Assistant?

  • No formal qualifications necessary
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate available on Update Service
  • Registered with EWC
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs core subjects
  • Passion for education

**Teaching Personnel can assist you with your DBS & EWC applications**

The successful candidate will be placed in small classes of intervention groups with students who have a range of special educational needs such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Physical Disabilities. Our partnership school has outlined they do not require someone with direct experience of working with SEN pupils, but more someone who fits their ethos and has transferable skills like Sports Coaches or care workers.

What does a Teaching Assistant do?

  • Assist the learning of students by explaining tasks, reading work out to them, keep them task focused etc.
  • Manage any challenging behaviours exhibited by students
  • Greet students in the morning and prepare them for classes
  • Communicate on an adult level to take direction from Teachers. It is imperative a TA has the ability to communicate and connect with children on their level
