SEN teaching assistants needed to work in secondary schools in Tameside to support students with moderate learning difficulties. Students that have moderate learning difficulties, autism, social emotional mental health, behaviour, ADHD and dyslexia.

SEN teaching assistants play a pivotal role in ensuring that students in their care receive tailored 1:1 support to achieve their expected levels of progress. Teaching Personnel support 10 secondary schools throughout the borough of Tameside with support staff provision on a temporary and permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for support staff coming to the end of a school based contract and looking for a new challenge or currently working in another work field and wanting to move to the education sector.

With the new academic year fast approaching schools are currently looking at their students with educational health care plans and their new cohort of year 7 students who will need additional teaching assistant support.

Key features of working as a teaching assistant;

  • Full time learning support posts
  • Working with students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting student to achieve their expected levels of progress
  • Varied opportunities in schools throughout the borough of Tameside
  • Access to regular training and development courses

Essential criteria for this role will be work based or educational references , an application for a fully enhanced DBS certificate, prior experience or qualification working with students who have special educational needs.
