Job description

Are you passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment for all pupils?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a specialist SEN school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to start full-time. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a good background in SEN who is looking to gain further experience within the classroom.

About the role:

  • Start-date: Immediate upon registration
  • Ongoing/long-term opportunity

As a Teaching Assistant within a specialist SEN school, you will work with students aged 11-14 with a range of SEN including, ASD, ADHD and speech and language delays. This may include 1-1 or small group intervention, whether this is adapting learning materials or providing support with emotional regulation and life skills. You will work closely with the class teachers and external agencies to ensure all students needs are met and individual learning plans are implemented when necessary.

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong background in SEN and working with young people (in any setting)
  • A genuine passion for SEN and wanting to improve a student’s learning environment
  • Good knowledge of SEN and current practices
  • Safeguarding training to be completed upon registering with Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
