SEN Teaching Assistant – IR Unit
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term opportunities available

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their IR (Inclusion Resource) Unit. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in the IR Unit, you will work closely with teaching staff and other support professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. This may include autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support within the IR Unit

  • Supporting pupils with their learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation

  • Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning plans

  • Promoting inclusion and positive engagement

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff

  • Helping to create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Patient, caring, and resilient

  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils

  • Confident following behaviour and support strategies

  • Willing to learn and develop within an SEN setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
