Job description

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Partington, Trafford (M31) who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September for the full academic year.

This rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on both a 1:1 basis and through small group intervention sessions across a range of year groups.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Deliver and support targeted intervention programmes in small groups.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff.
  • Help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support pupils' academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Have experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Have a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
