SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Wigan | Teaching Personnel

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming specialist school in Wigan that supports pupils aged 4-19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication and interaction needs. All students have an EHCP, and the school prides itself on its nurturing, inclusive approach, placing each learner at the heart of everything it does.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Helping students develop confidence, communication, and independence skills.
  • Encouraging positive social interactions and celebrating every success, big or small.
  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to support individual learning goals.
  • Creating a safe, positive environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient nature.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
