Complex Needs Teaching Assistant | Norwich

Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs? We're looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Norwich and help pupils reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The Role:

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff, you will help create a positive learning environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups throughout the school day.
• Assist with implementing individual learning and support plans.
• Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
• Support communication, independence, and social development.
• Assist with personal care where required, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent support.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, complex needs, or additional learning needs is desirable.
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning, communication, physical, and sensory needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping every child achieve their potential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
