Salary: £190 - 250 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham, London is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. The role:

As a SEN Teaching assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
  • Work 1:1 with students who require additional support.
  • Demonstrating a proactive and empathetic approach to supporting SEN students.
  • Reflecting on and improving your practice through self-evaluation and CPD.

Candidate specification:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable but not essential

All applicants must be willing to undergo vetting checks as part of the school’s commitment to Safeguarding and Anti-bullying. This will include:

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us)
  • Two recent references (covering the past 24 months)
  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable – for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
