SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support in mainstream primary school)

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a lasting difference to a child's school experience?

Teaching Personnel are supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Gorton to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with complex Autism. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing, and experienced in supporting children with additional needs.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you'll provide consistent support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, manage routines, develop communication skills, and build positive relationships with peers.

What your day could involve:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support within the classroom and around school.
• Adapting activities to meet the pupil's individual learning needs.
• Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Implementing strategies recommended by the school's SEN team and external professionals.
• Encouraging independence while providing reassurance and structure.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.

Previous experience supporting children with Autism is essential, and applicants with experience working with pupils who have complex needs are strongly encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
