Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant

School Rating: Outstanding (OFSTED)

Facilities: Hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms, soft play areas, massive outdoor play parks

Position Type: Full-time or Part-time

Hours: 8:45 am to 3:15 pm, term time only

Teaching Personnel, a reputable education agency, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding SEN primary school in Finchley. This school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms, soft play areas, and expansive outdoor play parks, providing an ideal environment for students with special educational needs to thrive.

Job Description:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one support to students with various SEN requirements.
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging and promoting students' independence and social skills.
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN support (desirable).
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
