Hours: 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: £13.75 per hour

Job Description

One of our biggest schools in the Llanelli area are looking for flexible teaching assistants for January start dates. The school specialises in supporting and providing learning opportunities for pupils with autism, learning difficulties and social emotional behaviour. The school are looking for strong willed, initiative-taking, adaptable, and compassionate individuals to support both pupils and staff. You will help create a positive, inclusive environment for everyone and support them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

About The Pupils

You will be working and supporting pupils who may have:

  • Moderate to severe learning difficulties
  • Social communication challenges
  • Various levels of autism
  • Social emotional behaviour needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with ASD.
  • Assist the class teacher by delivering adapted lesson support that meets individual needs and learning styles.
  • Encourage pupils to stay engaged, motivated and confident throughout lessons.
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment.
  • Be available for flexible, on-the-day cover where required.
  • To engage in school activities, whilst having fun during their progression and achievements

What We are Looking For

  • A fun, bubbly person, with a nurturing attitude
  • Someone with compassion and natural instincts to care and provide.
  • Someone who is enthusiastic about inclusion and enjoyment for all pupils – regardless of abilities.
  • Experience working within SEN settings (advantageous)
  • A compassionate, positive, and pro-active personality – someone who takes initiative and supports the team without needing prompting.
  • A strong minded individual able to adapt to changing behaviour.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow teacher guidance.
  • A valid DBS (or able to obtain one)
  • Hold a valid UK driving license.
  • Previous care background (personal or professional) – Advantageous
  • Youth working background (Advantageous)
  • Health and social care qualification (advantageous)
