SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Primary School – Norris Green)

Location: Norris Green (L11)

Start Date: October 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary
Location: Croxteth, Liverpool

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

 

An inclusive and nurturing primary school in Croxteth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full time basis starting in October. This is a temporary position working 1:1 with a child who has additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream classroom environment. The school has a supportive leadership team and is committed to creating an environment where all pupils can achieve their full potential.

You will play a key role in supporting the child’s learning, development and emotional wellbeing, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans.

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally in a 1:1 capacity
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting learning and behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
