Location: Lewes and surrounding areas
Position: Teaching Assistant (with SEND experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary to Permanent opportunities available
Salary: £80–£95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing

Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you drive and have access to your own vehicle? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join a friendly and supportive team of educators across schools in the Lewes area.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with a range of SEND needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD).

  • Assist class teachers in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

  • Support students both inside and outside the classroom to help them reach their full potential.

  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals to deliver tailored support plans.

  • Travel to various schools and settings in the Lewes area (mileage paid where applicable).

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEND.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to support and learning.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport (essential).

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
