Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.00 per hour (DOE)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Huyton (L36) to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026.

Staff work collaboratively to provide tailored interventions and maintain a structured, supportive setting, particularly for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Role Overview

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC
  • Assist in managing SEMH behaviours when required
  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing social and communication skills
  • Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment

✅ Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with ASC and/or SEMH needs
  • Is patient, resilient, and adaptable
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Has a proactive approach to behaviour management
  • Ideally holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
  • Is passionate about making a difference in children's education
