SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 Focus | Primary School – Hassocks
Term-Time Only | Immediate Start | Specialised Key Stage 1 Support
Are you experienced in supporting Key Stage 1 pupils, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Hassocks, working directly with young learners in KS1 who require additional support.
The Role:

Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for children in Key Stage 1 with a range of SEN requirements
-
Work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised strategies that meet EHCP goals and learning needs
-
Support children with speech, language, communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
-
Create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment for early learners
-
Term-time only, during school hours – excellent for work-life balance
What We’re Looking For:
-
Proven experience working with KS1 children, ideally within a mainstream or SEN school setting
-
Confidence supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and developmental delays
-
Patient, resilient, and highly adaptable approach to individual needs
-
A team player who can work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
-
Must have the Right to work in the UK
-
Must hold a current Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) registered on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
