At Teaching Personnel we are working closely with a primary schools in the Haywards Heath area that has asked us to recruit a 1:1/General learning support assistant to work in their Reception class. The roles will be supporting the needs of the whole classroom and one particular child in the reception class with some SEN needs such as ASC, can be slightly emotional but brilliant academically, mainly support keeping spirits high and attention on the learning. The positions will begin in Novemeber 2023 and the schools have indicated that they will move into a permanent position with them for the right candidate after a period of review.

What does it take to be a 1:1 Teaching Assistant?
- Passion for education
- Patience and understanding
- No formal educational qualifications necessary - however experience of SEN needs is essential.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs in core subjects
- Enhanced DBS Certificate available on the Update service (Teaching Personnel can assist)
Job role:
- Reading or explaining tasks to the child, understanding, and supporting their needs and keeping them focused on their tasks.
- Manage challenging behaviours.
- Support the teacher to maintain learning and help children access the curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
