Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel are looking for caring, patient and reliable Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs in schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who may have Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH needs or learning difficulties, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, support work or similar setting
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • An understanding of the challenges some children face in education
  • Good communication and behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

This role is particularly suited to candidates with experience in care, support work, youth work, residential care, coaching, mental health support, childcare or education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
