A school we work closely with in the HG3 are looking for a special educational needs teaching assistant to support across school. This school aims to give their pupils every opportunity to succeed in every aspect of school life; they want them to make friends and to achieve their best academically. The school also aims to deliver a rich and interesting curriculum which allows their children to develop their curiosity and ability to study, learn more and remember more. They want to provide their pupils with opportunities at the school to provide them memorable and exciting experiences for life.
In this role you will be responsible for the extra support to those children with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties and additional needs. Your role will consist of supporting teachers in delivering lessons to meet with the classes varying needs as well as providing targeted small group and 1:1 intervention. In addition to this, being confident in the classroom and behaviour management is a must. The rate of pay for this role will be between £77 and £90 per day depending on your level of experience.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
- Have experience working with challenging behaviours as one of the following: Teaching Assistant, Behaviour mentor, Youth worker or Residential support worker.
- Have experience of using behaviour management, Team Teach and de-escalation techniques.
- Be a caring and nurturing character.
- Be empathetic and understanding.
- Have a commitment and dedication to the learning and development of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
