Join a Specialist SEND Team in Fakenham!

We are looking for Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants!

Set within five beautiful acres, our school supports students aged 5–16 with Communication and Interaction Difficulties. Many pupils present with Autism traits (diagnosis not essential) and have full EHCPs. Learners work towards mainstream milestones such as SATs and GCSEs, supported by a passionate and dedicated staff team. 

A full, valid driving licence is a MUST!

We’re Looking For:

  • A Specialist Teaching Assistant with proven experience supporting children and young people in SEND school settings
  • Confident working 1:1 and in small groups, particularly with pupils who have Autism, communication challenges, or SEMH needs
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable — able to build trust and promote positive behaviour
  • A genuine passion for helping students reach their potential
  • Full UK Driving Licence – essential (due to the school’s location)
  • Full-time availability and readiness to commit long-term

Bonus Skills (Desirable but not essential):

  • Training or experience in Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, or Safeguarding
  • Knowledge of Autism strategies and communication support approaches

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce Only) – ideally registered on the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
  • Up-to-date CV with clear evidence of SEND experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
