Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Start Date: January or sooner

A welcoming SEN/PRU Primary School in Bournemouth is looking for a caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individual to join their team. This is your chance to support children aged 4–11 years old with a range of special educational needs and behavioural challenges, including ADHD, ASD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and more.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting teachers in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and life skills in a nurturing setting
  • Using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly
  • Working closely with a dedicated team to make learning accessible and enjoyable for every child

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone patient, compassionate, and adaptable
  • Comfortable working in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) environment
  • Experience with SEMH or mental health, and SEN (in or outside of education)
  • A team player who can collaborate with teachers and other support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies

Working Hours:

  • Mon & Tue: 08:30 – 16:00
  • Wed & Thu: 08:30 – 15:15
  • Fri: 08:30 – 15:00

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
