SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £13.75 an hour

Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt lessons and resources for individual learning
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and enrichment activities in a safe, engaging environment
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists to ensure effective interventions

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (school, care, or youth settings preferred)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach with strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and apply de-escalation techniques
  • A passion for helping others

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
