Location: Bootle
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £83-90 per day

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will play a crucial role in helping to create an inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Helping to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence and building pupils' confidence.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with special needs. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Additionally, you should have:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meeting the needs of pupils.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
