Job description

Behaviour Support Assistant – Everton (L3)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a highly regarded primary school in Everton (L3). The school is seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join its KS2 team. The role will begin on a temporary basis, with the strong possibility of becoming permanent following a successful probation period, as outlined by the Head Teacher.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting children who experience behavioural and emotional difficulties as they transition back into full-time education. You will work closely with pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them to reintegrate smoothly into both the classroom and wider school environment.
You will collaborate with the Class Teacher, the school SENCo, and parents to identify each child’s needs and implement tailored strategies to support their progress.

About the School

The school is rated GOOD by Ofsted and offers a strong, supportive environment in which children can thrive. The dedicated SENCo ensures that pupils receive appropriate support both inside and outside the classroom, and you will be an integral part of this provision.
The school promotes a positive behaviour culture and benefits from supportive pupils and families. A range of behaviour management strategies—including praise and positive reinforcement—are used consistently and effectively.
With strong funding for both SEND and Pupil Premium pupils, the school is able to allocate resources appropriately and has demonstrated impressive progress across key areas.

The Head Teacher

The Head Teacher is highly respected within the local community and has successfully led the school for more than five years. The positive ethos is evident throughout all year groups, from Early Years to Year 6, contributing to a happy learning environment where pupils feel secure and valued.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will receive regular support from your line manager as well as access to a variety of professional development opportunities. The school places great importance on staff development, ensuring that all team members remain up to date with curriculum changes and best practice in behaviour management.
