SEN Teaching Assistant – Bedfordshire

Location: Bedfordshire
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only / Temporary to permanent
CPD Training Available


About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team in Bedfordshire.
The successful candidate will work with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and keen to develop their skills through ongoing CPD and professional training.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.

  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development.

  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.

  • Encourage independence, self-esteem, and positive learning attitudes.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to meet pupils’ needs.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.

  • Qualification: A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.

  • Skills: Empathy, patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
