SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bamber Bridge
Start Date: November 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am - 3:20pm
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Contract: Full-Time

A caring and inclusive primary school in Bamber Bridge is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from November 2026.

This rewarding position involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

The Role:

• Provide classroom-based support for pupils with additional learning needs.
• Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups, adapting support to meet individual requirements.
• Encourage engagement, independence, and positive participation in lessons.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Follow individual support plans and implement strategies recommended by school staff and external professionals.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting children with SEN, either within education, childcare, care, or support work settings.
• Be patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach.
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Be confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Be committed to promoting inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
