SEN Teaching Assistant (Early Years Support)

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and welcoming first and nursery school in the local area to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant, working predominantly to support the provision in Early Years.

Under the direction of the Early Years Lead and SENDCo, you will be providing one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs, working both within the classroom environment and an individualised workspace.

This role is required for 12.5 hours per week, term-time only, covering sessions on Thursday and Friday. Working hours will be 8:30am to 3:15pm each day. This is a fixed-term position, starting immediately and continuing until 31 August 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The successful applicant will ideally hold a Level 3 childcare qualification and have experience working with younger children, particularly those requiring additional academic, emotional, or communication support. Training will be provided for the right candidate to build knowledge of ASD and communication techniques.

You would undergo a vetting process with Teaching Personnel, which would include an informal interview to review previous experience, 2 / 3 solid reference would need to be given & the right person would have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
