Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Multiple Schools Across Blackpool
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Contract: Flexible Hours
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in a dynamic, school-based environment and have the flexibility to work across multiple sites?
We are seeking experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team, working across a range of primary and secondary schools in the Blackpool area. This is a rewarding and flexible role offering varied experience and the opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Assist class teachers with planning and delivering tailored interventions.
- Promote a positive learning environment and manage challenging behaviours.
- Support students with their emotional and social development.
- Adapt support according to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working with SEN and SEMH students.
- A valid UK driving license (essential due to travel between schools).
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Team Teach) are desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
