SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism)

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Support Worker/SEN Learning Support Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This will be via a specialist educational provision for primary & secondary aged pupils with a variety of SEN.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of care, both on a 1-1 basis or 2-1 basis both in school and in some cases within a pupils home. You must have previous experience supporting autism in some capacity, alongside a working knowledge of safeguarding rules and regulations. The school would ideally look for a full-time member of staff but may have some part-time roles available.

The role:

• Support autistic students in your care to complete day-to-day tasks
• Ensure all personal care needs are met
• Follow care and education plans set to specific individuals
• Support the class teacher, as and when directed

The successful candidate:

• Will have experience supporting children or adults with ASD
• Will be aware of all safeguarding regulations and expectations in a school setting
• Will have genuine compassion and a want to adequately support the students in your care
• Experience supporting in a school environment is preferred but not essential
• Team Teach and/or Makaton training desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
