Pay Rate: £140 – £200 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for your next opportunity in York? We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic educators to join our team, delivering high-quality teaching and support to children with a range of additional needs across local schools.

About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you’ll:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with a variety of learning difficulties or disabilities.

  • Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and parents to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

  • Support students in achieving their full potential, both academically and socially.

  • Adapt your teaching style to suit a range of settings — from mainstream schools with specialist provision to dedicated SEN schools.

  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs and moving and handling where required.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or PMLD.

  • Preferably trained or confident in moving and handling and personal care.

  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

  • A flexible, positive approach with the ability to adapt to different environments.

  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one before starting the role.
