Primary/SEN Teacher - Whitefield (Bury) (M45)

Are you experienced with SEN and Autism? Are you looking for teaching work in a Mainstream Primary School?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Primary/SEN Teacher who is experienced working with Autism, to work in the ASC provision in one of our partnership primary schools. The role is to start in September and will be initially for the whole Autumn term until Christmas, with the school looking to take the right candidate on a permanent ideally.

The schools Autism provision has a maximum pupil capacity of 12. This consists of 2 children per academic year group from Year 1 to Year 6.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience teaching children with autism, and/or associated learning disabilities
  • Confidence teaching children academically and managing challenging behaviours associated with autism.
  • Full-time availability Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm (approx.)
  • Dedicated and consistent as building and maintaining positive relationships is vital.  
  • An understanding approach to those who suffer from Autism.  
  • A warm and friendly approach.

The School:

  • Located in the Whitefield area of Bury.
  • 400 pupils.
  • Latest Ofsted Rated ‘Good’ (2017)
  • ASC provision – maximum of 12 pupils
  • Multiple TA’s within the provision

The school is easily accessible by public transport from the surrounding areas, such as Bury, Prestwich and Bolton. The school also has on-site parking for those with their own transport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
