Job Description

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a qualified and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join one of our partner schools in the Southampton area, ideally suited to teachers with experience supporting children and young people with a range of learning difficulties and complex needs.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering inclusive, differentiated lessons to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons in line with EHCP targets.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and parents/carers.

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records.

  • Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in either a mainstream or specialist setting

  • Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and differentiation strategies

  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills

  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting individual needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
