Job Title: SEN Teacher (English or Science) – QTS Required
Location: Newcastle
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (flexible options available)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our supportive and dynamic team. This role is ideal for teachers with a strong interest in English or Science who are committed to helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that support the academic, emotional, and social development of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality English or Science lessons tailored to students with SEN.

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet a wide range of learning needs.

Create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff.

Monitor student progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience teaching English or Science at secondary level (or strong subject knowledge).

Experience working with SEN students or a strong interest in SEN education.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
Desirable
-
Experience in specialist SEN settings.
-
Knowledge of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
-
Experience working with small groups or personalised learning programmes.
- Child and Adult DBS or willing to obtain this as soon as possible

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
