Job description

SEN Teacher – Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract

A specialist education setting is seeking a passionate and highly motivated SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, fixed-term basis. The provision supports children and young people aged 3–19 across three tailored sites, each designed to meet specific and complex learning needs.

These include:

  • Pupils aged 3–19 with severe and complex learning difficulties
  • Pupils aged 11–19 with a diagnosis of Autism
  • Reception and Year 1 pupils with Autism and associated learning difficulties

With a holistic and child-centred approach, the setting ensures every learner receives the individualised support needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role

The successful candidate will be committed to improving outcomes for young people with Special Educational Needs and will:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver creative, interactive lessons tailored to a wide range of learning needs
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom that promotes student confidence and achievement
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to develop effective teaching strategies
  • Commit to Excellence: Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continually enhance teaching quality

Candidate Profile

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Proven success as an effective classroom practitioner
  • Strong commitment to improving student outcomes and personal professional growth
  • Ability to teach across a broad curriculum and adapt to individual learning styles
  • Empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with complex needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
