SEN Maths Teacher Wanted – BS35 Area!

Key Stages: 3–4 (Secondary)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only)
Location: BS35 (South Gloucestershire)


About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Maths Specialist to support a small class of secondary-aged students (11–16) with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This rewarding role involves delivering a tailored maths curriculum to students with a range of additional needs, with the daily support of dedicated teaching assistants.

Your students may face challenges including:

  • Mental health difficulties

  • ♿ Physical disabilities

  • Emotional or behavioural needs


✨ What You'll Be Doing:

✅ Deliver engaging and accessible maths lessons aligned to the school’s curriculum
✅ Adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
✅ Mark and assess work with constructive, tailored feedback
✅ Set clear, achievable learning goals
✅ Build trust and create a calm, supportive learning environment


About You – Our Ideal Maths Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics, ideally with experience at KS3/KS4

  • Effective behaviour management and classroom leadership

  • Experience working with SEN students (preferred, not essential)

  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education

  • Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are welcome to apply!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
