SEN Teacher – Primary Schools | Sheffield & Barnsley
We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and motivated SEN Teachers to work across primary schools in Sheffield and Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Location: Sheffield & Barnsley
Role: SEN Teacher – Primary Schools
Start Date: immediate starts available
⏰ Contract: Full-time | Long-term with potential permanent roles
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the needs of pupils with SEN
- Differentiate work to support a range of abilities, including children with EHCPs
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies
- Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence
✅ Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching children with SEN in a primary setting (desirable)
- Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with a range of needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
