SEN Teacher – Halifax 

Daily Rate: £160–£210/day | Full-Time or Part-Time | Short-Term, Long-Term & Temp-to-Perm

We are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teachers to join schools and specialist provisions in Halifax. Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time, long-term or short-term, or even a temp-to-perm route, we have flexible opportunities to suit your availability and career goals.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning styles and individual EHCP targets.

  • Lead and support a team of SEN Teaching Assistants and HLTAs in the classroom.

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation and Team Teach techniques.

  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

  • Track and report pupil development, ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing are prioritised.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential.

  • Experience teaching in SEN or mainstream with additional needs desirable.

  • Strong differentiation and communication skills.

  • Resilience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.

  • Enhanced DBS (willingness to apply; child workforce, Update Service preferred).

  • Additional training (Makaton, PECS, Moving & Handling, Team Teach) is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
