SEN Teacher - Immediate start

8:30am – 3:30pm (yes, really)
Term-time only
Herfordshire

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with complex learning needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities. As a SEN Teacher, you will take a lead role in planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive education, working closely with support staff, therapists, and families to help every pupil reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)

  • Develop and implement personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets

  • Lead and support teaching assistants and support staff within the classroom

  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs

  • Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour

  • Work collaboratively with therapists, external professionals, and families to ensure holistic support

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, reports, and meetings

  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, particularly those with complex needs

  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies

  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners

  • Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, during term time
