Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming secondary school in Bude, Cornwall, to recruit a skilled teacher to join their Area Resource Base (ARB) from September.
Job Details:
Start Date: September
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
Hours: 8:45 am – 3:15 pm
Pay: £170 - £250 per day + SEN allowance (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the School:
Our partner school provides a specialist ARB for secondary-age students with complex and multiple learning needs, including Autism, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties. The ARB delivers a personalised and flexible curriculum that balances academic progress with life skills, social development, and sensory support. Facilities include a sensory room, accessible outdoor spaces, and small-group learning environments. Students may work toward Entry Level qualifications, and some access GCSEs in mainstream settings, depending on their individual learning plans. All students have an EHCP, and placements are managed through Cornwall Council’s SEND team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with Autism and complex needs
- A deep understanding of differentiated teaching approaches and the EHCP process
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting student development
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs
- Work closely with teaching assistants and the SEN team to deliver EHCP targets
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment
- Liaise with parents, external professionals, and the wider school community
- Contribute to the development of the ARB’s inclusive and nurturing ethos
