SEN TA required in South Croydon to work with PMLD students

Teaching Personnel is currently working with an outstanding independent SEN school in Croydon that caters for students between the ages of 3-19 years who have profound and multiple learning difficulties with physical disabilities and complex medical needs; many also have visual and hearing impairments.

The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant that has experience of SEN and a good understanding of how to work with PMLD students. You will be required to work full time at this school, including a once a week session in the swimming pool to assist with hydrotherapy. Providing personal care for students is something that you must be willing to do, although assistance and training will be given for this.

You must be available for work immediately and have a DBS on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap. Previous experience working in care is desirable as an alternative if you have never worked in an SEN school before.

Training in Moving and Handling, personal care, Makaton and PECS are useful but not mandatory. The ideal candidate must be able to inspire and motivate these children through creative methods.
