SEN TA required in Kirkham-Must have Team Teach qualification

A specialist school on the outskirts of Preston are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the needs of students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and behavioural difficulties and Autism.

The pupils in school are grouped into small classes best suited to their needs, and as well as the classrooms in the main house, there is also a separate, well resourced, purpose-built suite of classrooms for pupils who're on the autistic spectrum and with associated conditions.

The school also boasts a specialist unit to support the learning needs of children with autism and offers a highly structured and 'autistic friendly' environment based on the National Autistic Society's SPELL framework to help to promote communication and independence. The curriculum is highly creative and motivating for a wide range of children's abilities and re-engages reluctant learners. Your aim will be to assist in helping children, aged 5-12, to re-engage with their education whilst providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to grow socially and emotionally.

You must hold a Team Teach qualification to be considered and you must have experience working alongside children with ASC who present challenging behaviours. You will ideally have experience using visual visual prompts and timetables, PECS, TEACCH, and Objects of Reference.
