SEN Support Assistant – Bacup
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Bacup. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with special educational needs within a nurturing classroom environment.
Position Details:
- Start Date: After May half term
- Pay: £14.25 per hour
- Hours:
- Full time: 8:30am – 3:30pm (30-minute lunch break)
- Part time: Hours to be discussed at interview
About the Role:
You will work closely alongside the class teacher and external agencies to support pupils with SEN, helping to implement tailored learning plans and next-step interventions. The role involves providing in-class support and helping pupils to engage positively with their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with SEN in the classroom
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and outside professionals
- Help deliver targeted interventions and support individual learning plans
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural or SEN needs (advisable)
- A resilient, patient, and reliable approach
- Consistency and commitment to supporting pupils’ progress
- Strong teamwork and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
