About the Role:

We are a warm and inclusive primary school in the heart of Blackburn, seeking a committed and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from October 2025. You’ll work closely with class teachers and the school’s SENCo to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language delays, and SEMH.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support and intervention to children with SEN

• Develop positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

• Assist in developing and implementing personalised learning plans

• Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

✅ About You:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting

• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
