Support Worker – SEN Residential School (Preston PR3)

Full-Time & Part-Time | Agency to Permanent

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join a welcoming and nurturing residential school located in the Preston PR3 area.

This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, starting on an agency basis with the potential to move into a permanent position for the right candidates.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you will be supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and associated behaviours. Working in both the residential and educational setting, your role will involve:

  • Providing emotional and practical support in a consistent, person-centred way

  • Promoting independence and positive routines

  • Supporting with daily living tasks, personal care, and educational activities

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with young people and the wider care team

  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, autism, or complex needs (preferred but not essential – training provided)

  • Resilient, empathetic, and patient individuals

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (rota-based)

Location: Preston (PR3) – own transport desirable due to location. Direct public transport from Blackburn Bus Station.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
