Support Worker – SEN Residential School (Preston PR3)
Full-Time & Part-Time | Agency to Permanent
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join a welcoming and nurturing residential school located in the Preston PR3 area.
This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, starting on an agency basis with the potential to move into a permanent position for the right candidates.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will be supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and associated behaviours. Working in both the residential and educational setting, your role will involve:

Providing emotional and practical support in a consistent, person-centred way

Promoting independence and positive routines
-
Supporting with daily living tasks, personal care, and educational activities

Building strong, trusting relationships with young people and the wider care team

Maintaining accurate records and reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, autism, or complex needs (preferred but not essential – training provided)

Resilient, empathetic, and patient individuals
-
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (rota-based)

Location: Preston (PR3) – own transport desirable due to location. Direct public transport from Blackburn Bus Station.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
