Join Our Team as a 1:1 SEN Support Staff for mainstream primary schools in Wolverhampton!

Are you passionate about providing tailored support to young learners with special educational needs? We're seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Support Staff member to join an outstanding local school in Wolverhampton.

Position: 1:1 SEN Support Staff

Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Start Date: As soon as possible

As a 1:1 SEN Support Staff member, you will play a crucial role in offering personalized assistance to Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils with special educational needs. Your commitment and empathy will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized support to Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils with special educational needs, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
  • Assisting in the implementation of tailored learning activities and interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child.
  • Offering support with personal care tasks, if required, to ensure the well-being and comfort of pupils.
  • Collaborating closely with the class teacher and fellow support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to teaching and support.
  • Monitoring and documenting pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher as needed.
  • Encouraging independence and fostering positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Support Staff member or Teaching Assistant, particularly in a 1:1 support role with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, is essential.
  • Familiarity with the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum and effective strategies for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Possession of relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated qualities of compassion, patience, and empathy in working with children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
